I feel like a fool.

How do you get the post to accept tabs spacing or even multiple spaces?

When I post something it looks fine before i submit then something happems to the format.

To save formatting, you can put code tags around it. Do this without the spaces:

[ c o d e ]
Code goes here...
...
[ / c o d e ]

If do not do a Quick Reply you should have a Format section. There is a button with a pound symbol '#' that inserts the "code" tags that Tara mentioned.

i always reply with the quick reply at the bottom. if i can't remember some formating then i just edit the post and fix it.
it has the same interface as the Reply to Topic link

I always use "reply with quote" to get those formatting options.. then i delete off the original quote and continue typing
