Dear experts,

How to truncate a log file?
By taking Full Bacup can we make the log file empty? how can I make an automatic checkpoint?

the command DUMP TRAN <DATABASE NAME> WITH NO_LOG is not working for me? I just replaced the database name with my database name..........

please guide me

Avoid using Dump Tran, it is provided only for backward compatibility.

Have you tried taking full backup of your database? What is the recovery model for the database? Have you read the link I posted?

Use 'backup log db_name with truncate_only'. If the db is not in simple recovery mode, you should backup log periodically without truncate_only option.
