Hi everyone,

I am starting a new exciting project - db content search.
Do you have any ideas how to implement db text search besides using SQL Full-Text Search?
One of the ideas is to break the sentence into keywords and tag/rank them. It is a part of Full-Text Search functionality. But we are trying to find a workaround and not use Full-Text Search because of the multiple indexes that are created on the text column.

Thank you for your help in advance

Are you thinking you are going to create your own solution that is faster and more functional than the solution provided by Microsoft?
And your solution will give good performance without using indexes?
You must have some talented developers.

If you need functionality that is not included in full-text indexing, then roll your own. Otherwise, its rarely a good idea to reinvent the wheel. Particular wheels manufactured by, say, BMW.
