Hello Dr. Nick! Or everyone out there.

I am faced with a conundrum. I am dealing with a SQL server that has one big flat table for storing data. There are a few other tables that I need to pull from, but the majority is in this big table.
Normalizing this table isn't an option.
I need to write an XML file based on this table. I am wondering what would be easier on the SQL server, if the code I write pulls one SP and does the looping itself, or if the code I write pulls individual SPs for harvesting the "sub"data elements I need.

I am thinking one big pull is the way to go, it just seems like a lot of extra data.
Stupid non normalized tables

I await the sage advice of the monks.
