| Hi guys,I have 2 databases on 2 separate servers. I am trying to insert data from a table in 1 database to a table in a database on the other server via a linked server connection using the following commands in a stored procedure:insert into #pageTitlesEXEC [ils602\ils602].extranet.dbo.most_visited_pageTitlesThe stored procedure that is being called on the other server (most_visited_pageTitles) contains the following command:SELECT ex_page_id, nodeData FROM ex_site_page_contentHowever when i run the first stored procedure to get the data and insert it into the #pageTitles table i get the following error:Server: Msg 7391, Level 16, State 1, Procedure most_visited_pagesTitles7, Line 127The operation could not be performed because the OLE DB provider 'SQLOLEDB' was unable to begin a distributed transaction.[OLE/DB provider returned message: New transaction cannot enlist in the specified transaction coordinator. ]OLE DB error trace [OLE/DB Provider 'SQLOLEDB' ITransactionJoin::JoinTransaction returned 0x8004d00a].Has anybody had any experience with these linked server errors before or can point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance. |
