Would having and using frequently AOL on a pc prevent me from installing a database?
I have removed all previuos versions of SQL turned off AV and firewalls.
This has only occured once before on a chinese version of XP
Any suggestions

No, but IT people should use better ISP's. AOL is for PC illiterate people typically.

What is meant by "unable to install database"?

This is for a potential client. They use AOL and are unwilling to change it. I provide technical support for a waste management software company. We have been unsuccesful in trying to build or install a prebuilt Database for a particular client. What other conflicts might prevent a pc from installing SQL?

No. It should not.

What is the error ? When does it occurs ? During installation of SQL Server or creating a database ?
