| Dear all,This is the first time using this forum, I hope I can get some help.I have started studying SLQ Server 2000 at home as I have a Video Tutorial but I thought I need to install SLQ Server 2000 to follow the training. I have been trying to instal SLQ Server 2000 Enterprise Edition on both Windows XP Pro Pack2 and Windows 2000 but I get this message saying "Microsoft SQL server 2000 enterprise edition server component is not supported on this operating system only client component will be available for installation "I do not know anything about SQL and I thought I must have been doing something wrong otherwise it would not give me the same warning on both operating systems.I do not know what is it I do wrong and I would appreciate your help and assistance.Thank you |

| You need windows server OS for that. Can only install msde or sql2k developer edition on win xp. |

why bother with 2000? it's supported by MS for another year only.if you are new, why start with such an old version? forget 2000 and start with 2005. there's an "express" version of 2005 that's free.
