Hi, is there a way to group hundreds of tables into folders or any type of table grouping in 2005?

Not sure what you mean by that, for what purpose?

I guess what I'm asking is how do I organize many many tables so that you don't have to go looking for a "needle in a haystack" when looking for a table? Or is there a much better approach that I'm missing?

You can group the tables based on relationships and the logical groupings in your diagrams, couple that with a data dictionary and you should be set.

in sql server schemas are used for exactly this.
they group logicaly close objects.

if you're familiar with .net schemas are in a way analogous to namespaces

Yes, like Oracle schemas. That was only introduced in SQL Server 2005 right?
