Hi all,

I have a very simple question on the trace flags.

After setting the trace on like below,

dbcc traceon (1204, 3605, -1)
go
dbcc tracestatus(-1)
go

Where should I go to see what caused the deadlock ? Actually my question is what does the trace do when it is ON and where it records events for us to view ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Hariarul

Hi,

From MSDN--
Trace Flag 1204 and Trace Flag 1222
When deadlocks occur, trace flag 1204 and trace flag 1222 return information that is captured in the SQL Server 2005 error log.
