| Hi,I'm new to SQL Server and am now learning how to operate SQL Server Express 2005.I'm getting the following error when attempting to install Visual Web Developer 2005 SP1."The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch"My machine runs on XP Pro SP2, .NET Framework 3.5.Currently, what i have got on the computer are as followsMicrosoft SQL Server 2005: SQL Server Management Studio Express, SQL Server Configuration Manager. |

Do you have Visual Web Developer 2005 RTM installed?

You can only install Visual Web Developer 2005 SP1 if you have this application installed before.You are trying to install the service pack 1 for Visual Web Developer 2005.Maybe you want to install the complete package, with SP1 included?

| Hi Peso,I tried to find the one as you said "the complete package" and downloaded SQLEXPR.EXE which is Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition SP1. This doesn't solve the problem.Where can i find the complete package?Thank you in advance |
