| I can not install sqlsrvr 2000 on my laptop. I uninstalled the previous instance but couldnt install the new one. every time i run the autorun.exe, it displays the initial screen, then i select components and server 2000 to install but then it disappears and doesnt display the welcome screen. Task manager shows two processes running: sqlsetup and setupsql something, but no effect. I waited long for many times but of no use. This setup works quite fine on other PCs. Any suggestions! |

| Kristen !!!So what should i do to run that setup for me? Ok i have sql srvr 2005 standard edition as well. Does that make any nauisance to 2000. Should i uninstall it???? |

| Ah .. .you have SQL 2005 installed and you NOW want to install SQL 2000?If so I'm pretty sure I have read that for a dual-SQL-server machine then SQL 2000 has to be installed first. I could be wrong though ... |
