 .LDF getting huge, how do I truncate

I have a maintenance plan with full recovery. My LDF file is getting huge and doesn't get shrink by the plan. What did I do wrong?

The log file can't be shrinked if there is data present.

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
DTS can be used in a similar way.
