Hi All
Server is SBS 2003 R2 with SP2.
It had MSDE, But we are using an app that comes with a license of SQL 2k standard. So we installed that as well.
The app runs fine on the server (i.e.- you can connect from the server itself) but from no other machine.
I have enabled TCP/IP and Named Pipes on the server and the client connectivity utility and still nothing can connect.
The IT guy says that these machines are all on the same LAN behind a firewall and so should not be affected by a firewall at all.
If I do a portscan I can see that port 1433 is not listening. But why would named pipes not work.
I have not come across this before and am puzzled.
