| Hello,Is it possible to access MS SQL 2000 database from SQL 2005 Express Enterprise manager? Database servers are on different machines, but in same Intranet. I know that I can access to other database that is on same server from Store Procedure / adding a database name prefix in front of table name...ThanksAlex |

| >>SQL 2005 Express Enterprise manager?I think you mean SQL Server Management Studio Express, right?Yes, it works fine, but you may not be able to perform all of the administrative tasks that you could with the non-express version of SSMS or with Enterprise Manager.- Jeffhttp://weblogs.sqlteam.com/JeffS |

YOu can register the 2000 server with your EM as a linked server. But remember the 2000 box won't have the same functionality as the 2005 box. Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part. |

| No, you can't register sql 2000 server with EM as a linked server. You can create linked server to sql2k in ssmse on sql2k5e. |
