hi there! can anybody help me do this, i can't make make a tape back-up in SQL Server 2000, the tape destination is not visible to select, i can only back it up through drive D:. What suppost to be the problem?! thanks! |

You need attach tape drive to sql server directly. |

Because when you need to restore the database, you typically just need yesterday's or a recent backup. It's much easier and faster if that file was on disk rather than on tape.
