Hi everyone,

How can I only do a backup of a schema of my db?

example: I have a db with four schemas (Nameschema1, Nameschema2, Nameschema3, Nameschema4 ). I only copy my Nameschema3 with its objects.

Thanks.

Y, you can't. Sorry. I've been wanting that for along time too, but it's not possible. You can do it indirectly by using something like RedGate's schema compare tool or MS's tool, but there is no native backup option for schema-only backup.

Thanks. I had thought to put every schema in a differente filegroup but it doesn't seem a good idea.

You can copy them with data export wizard.

If you don't need the data you can script the objects via SQL Server Management Studio. But if you were to go that route I would use the Redgate tool SQL Compare.
