Ok firstoff i hope im on the right forum... I'm in knee deep shit and it stinks really bad so i might have rushed through the rules and regulations...

See I got this SQL Server run at work.. it SQL Server 2000. The master DB is not used at all... I use our own DB called Fruity(dont even ask). The server was run on XP and today XP wont boot. I'm afraid I might format the PC while trying to reinstall XP. SO im gonna take the Hard disk out.. connect it to my PC and backup all the data needed...

Now heres the problem. I dont kno which files to take. I googled a lot on this... but those instructons are scary since i have to do stuff like take registry backups and stuff... My OS wont start.. how do I even access registry?

don't you have backups?
copy your mdf and ldf files for your database.
you'll be able to attach them later when you reinstall your pc and sql server on the exact same disk location.
