Boy that early site is ugly! You can even see Merkin make the very first post on the site. :)

It's not a service. They do it for free. And you can see when they quit tracking our site. I didn't sign up -- they just started tracking the site.

They crawl the web and track information for lots and lots of web sites. It is pretty cool though if you need to find information from a web site that no longer exists, of course you'd need to know that the information used to be there.
