Bill,

Any chance of having an Advanced feature for the forum search capability?

Ooooh, an advanced feature!
I have some specs like that around here somewhere.

What is missing from the search ?

It would be nice if you could search for something using multiple members or to search multiple forums instead of one at a time. I don't mean searching under all members or all forums, but if you could put in a comma separated list of members so you don't have to run the search multiple times or leave the option blank. And also select which forums instead of one at a time or all at once.

How would it be slower though?

SELECT ...
FROM Table1
WHERE ForumID = 1 OR ForumID = 2

instead of

SELECT ...
FROM Table1

That's if you searched on all of them, which is probably what people do instead of doing multiple searches.

Of course, I don't know what the schema looks like, so I could be way off base here. Wouldn't be the first time!

Damian,

I have already coded for the "advanced search" spec and for that matter, any spec.
It is called "DoWhatIWant.DLL".. Patent Pending..

I've got a dll like that too, it's called AllYourBaseAreBelongToUs.DLL. It works great!

Hmmm. I'll take a look at it. No promises though. I really don't like to modify this Snitz code since it makes upgrades so difficult. I do see the benefits though.
